I know you’re new because I’m not new.
I see you,
lost in the free weights section,
trying to figure out how to use the leg-curl machine,
attempting RDLs with them teeny tiny weights.
Oh, don’t worry, I’m not mocking you. This? This is admiration.
I’ve been where you are. We all start somewhere.
You should have seen me on my first day in the gym.
Actually, no one should have seen me on my first day in the gym. It was that bad.
But I digress.
I want you to know that you’re not alone.
No, I’m not looking at you to make fun of you,
I just want to make sure you won’t hurt yourself trying to get those big glutes that no doubt have been haunting your Tik Tok feed.
If you have a question, or you need some help –
just ask.
And
if you just keep at it,
if you just stick with it,
if you don’t give up,
if you keep showing up,
if I see you here around Easter time,
or even Valentine’s Day,
then,
and only then,
I will forgive you for chatting with your friend while blocking access to my locker, keeping me from my much needed post-new-year’s-resolution-cardio-session shower.
